Inspired by the night and the moonlit glow over the Atlas Mountains, where this vibrant Boucherouite style rug was woven, the Tashukant (ⵜⴰⵛⵓⴽⴰⵏⵜ) Rug, meaning "night" in Tamazight, brings the natural beauty of Morocco’s landscape into your home. The contrasting deep navy and creamy hues represent the transition from night to dawn, capturing the serene yet bold energy of the mountain landscape.
Boucherouite rugs combines the modern creativity of upcycled fabric with the traditional techniques of Berber artisans. They are made by taking used, worn out rugs and refreshing it with a plush pile, using cotton or wool threads. The use of recycled materials not only makes it environmentally friendly but also gives it a one-of-a-kind, textured appearance. Sometimes Boucherouite rugs can go through many refreshes in it's lifetime, making for an extremely unique, layered and beautiful piece of art. You will never find two Boucherouite exactly alike, and true Boucherouite rugs cannot be custom made to order. They are created organically on a case-by-case, need-by-need basis, making them rare and a collectors piece.
