Meloui, named after a beloved Moroccan flatbread, reflects the warmth and tradition of Moroccan culture.
This vintage Boujaad rug was handwoven in the Middle Atlas Mountain region, and is estimated to be 30-40 years old. Its faded red-to-pink base is accented with subtle orange and yellow floral and geometric motifs, softened over time through the natural aging process of its plant-based dyes.
The dyes, mostly wildcrafted from the region where it was woven, give the rug its gentle, muted palette.
These types of rugs are well known for their use of goat hair on the ends and in the tassels, which adds durability and texture.
