Azawa is a handwoven rug named after the Tamazight word for wilderness.
It is not like most Moroccan rugs we find. We got if from a quirky nomadic Berber traveler in the Sahara, who said that this rug tells a story about the origins of the world. The trees are meant to be "the tree of life" in Berber symbolism.
Designers gravitate toward rugs like this for their ability to add character and depth to design by introducing bright colors to one-dimensional minimal spaces, in a subtle creative way.

Estimated Age and Condition: We aren't 100% about the age of this piece, and it's origins are a mystery. We ask our experts and they believe it is around 15 years old from the Ourrzazate region.
