The name of this rug, Asgoumel (ⴰⵙⴳⵓⵎⴻⵍ), is inspired by the Tamazight (native Berber language) word for "ripples." Visually it has off-centered concentric squares that evoke a sense of movement and harmony.
It was handwoven by artisans in the Beni M'Guild tribes in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
Pile: The rug features a medium pile, providing a soft, comfortable feel underfoot while remaining durable enough for high-traffic areas. The pile is ideal for creating a cozy yet low-maintenance environment. It works great as a room anchor to guide the eye to a certain area of a room. The wool has been brushed, giving it a refined look and luxurious feel.
Age: This rug is newly woven and in pristine condition.
Colors: The rug features a natural warm cream wool base with alternating coral geometric squares that create a sense of movement. Note: There are speckles of coral wool that are sprinkled occasionally within the cream wool, which we think adds to it's unique handmade charm. See photos.

Please note: Due to the handmade nature of this rug, sizes can vary slightly from side to side. These natural variations are a characteristic of handmade products and are part of what makes them one-of-a-kind. Handmade items add a natural textured element to modern, minimalist spaces, adding depth and character—a design trend that's gaining popularity.
Materials: Made from hand-spun Moroccan sheep wool, the dyes are derived from natural plant-based sources. The rug is handwoven on a wooden loom using traditional Berber knotting techniques.
